Cllr Trudy Dean is calling for quiet in Brook Road
Lib Dem County Councillor Trudy Dean, is calling for quiet in Brook Road, Larkfield.
The County Council has published plans for adding traffic lights to the nearby junction of A228 Castle Way and Leybourne Way. The lights are required by the planning consent for building 1,000 new houses in nearby Holborough Quarry, Snodland, which is served by the A228. Trudy has asked for future traffic noise and air pollution levels at properties in Brook Road to be calculated.
She said: "The traffic noise for residents in Brook Road is already unacceptably high. We had to move the site meeting away from the junction to hear one another speak! Acoustic barriers are definitely needed here, and recent work by the Borough Council has shown air pollution may also be a problem . I have asked KCC if necessary to consider moving the junction further away from the houses."
Trudy has asked for letters of support from residents to be sent to her at County Hall Maidstone, or email her at trudy.dean@kent.gov.uk
