"GO LOCAL" Call To Health Overview Committee

sufficient focus on those health issues which most concern people locally
Take early steps to ensure that local health issues are dealt with locally!
At the County Council meeting of the 13th December the outdated NHS Overview and Scrutiny Committee was renamed to Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HO&SC) with a change in the Terms of Reference to include a far wider Health spectrum including Social Care.
Dan Daley (Lib Dem Spokesperson on the KCC HO&SC) called on the Council and the Committee to take early steps to ensure that local health issues are dealt with locally through the Overview and Scrutiny arrangements at a district level.
Dan argues "The Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee take a broad strategic overview of Health Services in Kent. But! This position does not give sufficient focus on those health issues which most concern people locally".
He continued "I will now be asking the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee to put this subject on their agenda in the New Year to enable the early development of additional local Health Scrutiny Sub Committees".
