Applications are welcome from most types of organisations and groups as long as they have a bank account
Appplications will be considered from religious organisations (as long as they have a wider community benefit), but not from individuals, such as for personal sponsorship, or from party political groups.
| The KCC Member Community Grant is designed to support to local community projects that meet Kent County Councils overall objectives. If you're not sure if you qualify, speak to your County Councillor. |
The following points are important. Please read them carefully:
Your project must come into one or more of the following categories:
All grants from this fund are one-off and, for one year only. If your project will continue over a longer period, you will need to show in your application that you have plans to cover future costs.
Your project must be ready to start in the current financial year (between June (after County Council elections) and the end of March 2010). KCC do not fund projects which have already begun.
This fund must not be used to replace any other funding you may currently get from KCC.
Any grant you receive will be specifically for the project described in your application. It must not be used for any other purpose.
When you apply, it is important that you describe the community benefit your project will bring. The benefit must be for local communities in the Kent County Council area.
KCC do not require that your project has funding from other sources too (eg matched funding), but if it will, you must show this in your application. This helps KCC to understand the size and scope of your project.
If your project needs planning permission, you must obtain this before you apply for this grant.
You can apply from June (after County Council elections) up until the end of February 2010. If your application comes in later than this, KCC may defer it to the next financial year, but cannot guarantee this.
| Before filing out an application, it's best to contact your County Councillor. They should be able to help you through the process. |
