(Maidstone Central covers Allington, Bridge, Fant, Heath, High Street and South wards)
I was born and educated in London, a Freeman of the City of London I moved to Maidstone in 1974.
I first became involved in local politics in 1985, during the successful fight to save playing fields in Allington. Five years later I became a Maidstone Borough Councillor in and in 2001 I was elected a County Councillor. I am very involved with my local community as a Governor of Maidstone Boys' Grammar School, President of Maidstone Winds - Maidstone's premier wind orchestra, and a Trustee of three local Charities - Relief in Need Charities, Maidstone Trust (which led the development & establishment of the Maidstone River Walk and Whatman Park), and Allington Millennium Green (which I helped establish).
I have a great love of nature and do everything possible to protect the most beautiful and precious parts of our natural heritage. For example much improving the local green environment through the provision of more street trees and the maintenance of those which already form part of the highway fringes.
