Kent Lib Dems condolences on passing of Jean Newman

It is with regret that the Kent Liberal Democrats have learned of the sad death of Mrs Jean Newman, former Conservative County Councillor for Swale East. The group send our best wishes and condolences to her friends and family.

Mrs Newman died on Sunday 7th June. Mrs Newman was elected to the County Council in May 1995 and served until 2005. Jean Newman was a long standing Swale Borough Councillor and was also Mayor of Swale for two years, 1989 and 1991.

Mrs Newman's funeral will take place at Teynham Church on Thursday 18 June 2009 at 1:30 pm. The family have requested family flowers only but donations in her memory should be made to the Pilgrims Hospice, Ashford. Cheques should be made out to The Pilgrims Hospice Ashford and sent to Hogben & Partis, Funeral Directors, 37 Stone Street, Faversham, ME13 8PH.
