Kent Young People's Fund

Ongoing grants (£25-£75) to young people to enable them to achieve a personal development goal e.g. towards the purchase of equipment, course or trips. Young people should be 11-25 yrs who have personal circumstances that require financial support (priority group is 13-19 yrs)

Member Community Grant

Ongoing these grants are available in each of the 84 County Council electoral areas, and totals £10,000 in each electoral area. Projects need the support of the County Councillor for the area. For more information please check this link

Rural Revival

Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct and Dec: grants (max. £10,000) to projects that encourage local employment and community involvement in rural areas in Kent. Also offers Fast Track and Capacity Building Grants.

Small Capital Grant Scheme for Sport

Ongoing - This scheme aims to encourage the development of sports in the county by offering grants to local sports clubs and groups to improve facilities and widen participation.

Small Community Capital Projects Fund

Ongoing - total budget of £500,000. It is open to new projects requiring capital expenditure up to a maximum of £20,000 for any single project. In practice, most awards are smaller than this. The fund can only meet capital costs, does not cover staffing costs, running costs etc. Projects need to demonstrate clear benefit to a local community. For more information please check this link:

Sports Schemes on School Sites

1 March, 1 June, 1 November - grants to organisations to organise sports schemes on school sites - available to schools, councils, companies and governing bodies in Kent for new and enhanced activities.

Town Squares and Village Greens Funding

Grant of between £3,000-£5,000 available to support the enhancement of public space and uplift the appearance of a town or village. Project should be in a priority area (Ashford, Maidstone, North Kent towns and SEEDA Kent Rural Towns).

Village and Community Hall Grants

Forms and documentation to be returned to Borough/ District/City Councils for consideration by 30 September.

This scheme provides financial support to the management committees of village and community halls (separate from the parish council) to fund capital projects to improve an existing facility or build a new one that meets an identified need in the community. KCC support is conditional upon the Borough/District/City Council also committing up to a maximum of £42,500 or 25% of project costs, whichever is the smaller amount.

Community Paths Project

On-going - small grants (average £600.00 but will consider larger for right project) available to undertake improvements / enhancements to the Public Rights of Way Network (e.g. replacing stiles with gates, surface improvements). Available to Parish Councils and other recognised community and voluntary groups. Match (or other) funding desirable.

Sportsaver Scheme

1 Mar, 1 June and 1 Nov each year - Kent Reliance Building Society gives to community sports projects in Kent. Grants are between £50-500.

Pfizer Fund

1 Mar, 1 June and 1 Nov each year - grants of £50-£500 provided by Pfizer Ltd for community sports projects in East Kent.

LEADER+

Generally quarterly - an EU funded programme, with further funding from SEEDA and Defra, for rural community led projects across the mid-Kent area from Sheppey to Romney Marsh.

Kent Rural Towns

As required - a partnership programme providing support and advice for small rural towns (including larger villages/ parishes) wishing to carry out a town "Health Check". Devolved funding from SEEDA is available for a specified group of towns for economic regeneration projects. Grants from £40,000 with 50% match required.

Youth and Community Partnership Award

Deadlines usually May - grants (£1,000-£6,000) for voluntary youth organisations within the KCC boundaries. Funds can only be given toward specific items of expenditure e.g. rent of premises, minor maintenance of premises

Kent Paralympian Fund (supported by The Denne Group)

Ongoing - initially, an amount of £25,000 is allocated to the Fund, which is open to applications from individuals, not clubs, to cover up to 50% of the cost of the necessary preparation and training required for the Paralympics Games, primarily for 2012, although the Trust will consider also those wishing to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Games.

31 January - available for pupils who are over the age of 16 and are attending schools in Kent, Medway, Bexley or Bromley, or have left such a school within the previous 12 months.
