Following an intense campaign in South and Loose Wards in the Maidstone Borough Elections, and in spite of the national picture, Lib Dem Kent County Councillor Brian Clark and Lib Dem Maidstone Borough Councillor Sue Grigg respectively gained and held the seats in Thursday's election.

Cllr Brian Clark stated

"This is a victory on the back of many hours of hard work focussing on the major local issues in each of our two wards, including housing development, infrastructure, public transport, traffic congestion and pollution. There is still much work to be done but it is great to have such emphatic support from local residents".

Cllr Sue Grigg continued

"I am on first name terms with many of my residents and like Brian I throw myself into local issues. I feel this victory indicates the measure of approval for my work, reaching beyond the volatile political landscape, which makes me feel very proud"
