Kent County Council gives overwhelming support to Liberal Democrat budget amendments

February 11, 2017 10:29 PM

The Liberal Democrat group at County Hall was unable to support the budget proposed by the Conservative Administration, see keynote speech by Lib Dem Group Leader, Trudy Dean, in previous article.

However, both the budget amendments, which the Liberal Democrat introduced during the budget debate, received overwhelming support from the Council.

  • The Council agreed to restore the budget for crisis payments for the most needy people in Kent back to cyrrent spending levels. These payments are administered by the Kent Support and Assistance Service (KSAS) at KCC. For more information about KSAS and examples of their work click here.
  • The Council also agreed to the Liberal Democrat proposal for an in depth investigation into the costs and organisation of the County's Coroners Service.
