Vital bus services all over Kent facing the axe.

Please sign our petition to show you are opposed to these services being cut.

Save Kent's BusesKent County Council are considering reducing the subsidy it gives to 78 bus routes all over Kent. The bus operators have warned that these services could be withdrawn if the subsidies are cut. You can find a list of buses that could be axed by clicking here.

People rely on these vital bus services - schoolchildren, disabled and elderly people and their carers. People who can't drive will find it harder to get to doctors or hospital appointments. People living in rural areas will struggle to get to the shops. As a result KCC has chosen for many years to keep these 'socially necessary routes' running by paying bus companies a contribution towards their costs. .

Back in May, Kent's Conservatives promised to protect the old, the vulnerable and to stand up for communities. They promised to keep Kent moving by promoting the transport infrastructure which Kent needs. So, it's no wonder that 12 of Kent's MPs have written to KCC Leader, Paul Carter, asking him to think again. They also pointed out that it doesn't look good following KCC Conservatives voting themselves a 15% increase in their allowances.

The Liberal Democrats, the official opposition on Kent County Council, have opposed these cuts and will continue to do so. However, we need your help. Sign our petition to help save these vital bus services.
