"I am determined to lead the party in Kent in a way that provides effective opposition to the Conservatives at County Hall. We will scrutinise what the administration is doing, or failing to do. We will put forward additional or alternative plans for action to benefit people in Kent.
"We will demand better for everyone who lives in Kent.
"We will stand up for the towns and villages that have sent us to County Hall and for liberal values across the county. Our values are support for an open society with equal opportunity for all, where people are liberated from poverty, ignorance and conformity. Liberals champion freedom for every individual to live their life to the full.
"A priority for me is to ensure that we support Liberal Democrat local parties across Kent to be in a stronger position to win more seats at future local elections."
